Q. Don’t allow members
(especially cashiers) to wear "message" shirts. That may make customers
feel judged about their purchase choices. Vegan messages in particular
can be alienating and makes it look like the Co-op is promoting one
food choice above all others, making the majority of customers "wrong."
A. We try to balance freedom of speech with maintaining a non-offensive
shopping and working environment.
Q. Please carry produce from the Produce Project in Troy!
A. We have been in contact with each other and are looking into it
Q. I’ve complained before but to no avail. The conventional Apple &
Eve juices likely contain trace amounts to lead and arsenic from China.
Look into it.
A. We have discontinued the Apple and Eve 3-packs and are phasing out
their conventional juices.
Q. Thank you produce for great customer service.
A. You’re welcome. We’re glad you appreciate us.
Q. Strongtree coffee moved to Florida. Can we still get it?
A. We believe it is still available to us. Demand will dictate whether
we continue to carry this now nonlocally roasted coffee.
Q. Why are some children able to work with their parents while they do
member hours?
A. Our policy allows children 14 and over to work with a parent and
receive credit as long as they contribute productive labor.
Q. Large sign post on the plastic bag container: "NOT FOR GARBAGE."
A. We are working on the flow and signage in the recycling bins. Stay
tuned for improvements.
Q. Drinking water fountain, coat rack, bus bench, half-size shopping
cart.
A. We are entertaining these ideas for the new store.
Q. I think the deli soups should be priced per lb. This way I can get
just what I desire.
A. We offer soups with varying weight to volume ratios (specific
gravity) so there is no way to establish a fair price per pound.
